<aside> 💡 Welcome to your new Dashboard! Quick Actions The first section contains a couple of quick actions for creating a new note or new task, to add more you can create a button using “/button”.
Tasks Next you’ll find your tasks section, this is where you’ll spend most of your time. • The ‘To do list’ is split into 2 tabs, home and work, this allows you to keep both these areas of your life separate. • To add a new task simple use the button, or select any of the ‘+ New’ buttons in the section. • Any tasks that don’t have an area or due date assigned will appear in the ‘To Sort’ section. These means you can quickly add tasks as you remember them, and then sort them out later when you have time. • When the due date passes on a task, you will automatically see it in the ‘Overdue’ section, so you never forget a task!
Notes All your notes sit under your tasks. • Your notes view is sorted by the ‘Last Edited’ notes, so you can quickly pick up where you left off. • Similarly to the ‘To Sort’ section in tasks, when you create a new note it will appear here until you assign an area to it.
Databases At the bottom of the page you can find your Databases. • This is where all your tasks and notes pull from, feel free to move the elsewhere, though they can be useful when searching for a task or note. • It’s worth knowing that the tasks database comes with a calendar already set up, so you can easily connect to the Notion Calendar app when you’re ready and see all your tasks there too!
Once you feel comfortable you know where everything is, feel free to delete this callout or even copy it into a handy new note!
